Utilities May Get Property Tax Boost in Iowa
Iowa officials consider raising property valuations for public utilities including power gas and water firms. Current annual valuations total about 57 million dollars, with potential increases backed by C F Green on the state tax commission and supported by Gov. Wilson in prior talks. The shift would raise utilities’ tax burden and alter how levies are distributed among property classes.
