Eggs Market Turns Bullish as Movements Lag

Market data shows traders bullish on eggs due to light production but slow movement into storage. Shell eggs stored 75 percent of last year’s week and frozen eggs 40 percent, though frozen stocks stay above 1937 due to heavy carryover. Prices inch up on retail side while fowls ease. New potatoes advance early in the south, old stock declines as buyers switch. Apple prices slump as warm weather persists. Hatchery reports show a 5 percent rise in salable chicks in March and a 10 percent increase year‑to‑date compared with 1937.
