Courts ruling gives flood lawsuit another shot
A three judge panel of the 8th U S Circuit revived a Cedar Rapids flood case that argues railroads helped cause the 2008 flood by stabilizing bridges with ballast filled cars. The order resend the action to Linn County state court with five named victims and defendants Cedar Rapids Iowa City Railway Alliant Energy and Union Pacific. Local attorney Sam Sheronick leads the plaintiffs and vows to present the truth at trial.
