Corbett rules out governor bid if Lightfoot runs
Cedar Rapids House Speaker Ron Corbett said he will not seek the GOP nomination for governor if former Rep. Jim Ross Lightfoot runs. He cited lower statewide name ID, weaker organization, and lesser fundraising ability compared to Lightfoot. Also noted Branstad plans to step down and Grassley is out, while Lightfoot is viewed as likely to run. In separate case, Terry L. Anderson, 34, of Cedar Rapids, was charged with sexual exploitation of a minor after allegedly recording nude video of a girl and possessing nude images found on the Internet.
