The Extension Service van Operation Ship Shape will be on display at 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church during the Marion Past 60 meeting. The exhibit explains and demonstrates repair of common household problems. The council appointed Bennet to a five year term on the board of adjustment replacing Sandy Kreinbring. Tipton cleanup volunteers received public thanks after last Saturday’s event and will continue this Saturday. Council discussed sidewalks by Bud's Super Value with a plan to add curbs 16 feet from the street and paint parking lot stripes to mark a sidewalk area. Two Charged With Larceny In School Vandalism
Two rural Winneshiek county men Duane Lundy and Ricky Walters were charged after allegedly taking part in the April 28 North Winneshiek school vandalism. Lundy held on $10,000 bond and Walters released on partial bond. both face larceny and malicious damage charges with $5,000 bonds per count. Damages were about $4,000 with $100 stolen and a school pickup taken. A hammer and broken kitchen window let vandals enter, delaying classes by an hour for cleanup.
