A Midwest plan by the Association of College Admissions Counselors with Sloan Foundation support opens a summer admissions center at Glenbrook High School to help youths without college offers. Starting June 1, qualified applicants who have not found a college will be assisted to fill unused freshman places at various colleges.

Bernett boy injured in fall at Iowa farm

Iowa Farm Wife Dies From Accidental Gunshot Wound
Mrs. Walter Englund, 40, of Clearfield, died at a Des Moines hospital from an accidental back wound. The shot occurred April 27 at her home as her husband, reloading a gun, discharged it while preparing to shoot at dogs attacking their sheep. Authorities at Mt. Ayr investigated the incident.
