Attacks on PBS NPR and museums spark un-American label
Alyssa Rosenberg details Trump administration efforts to defund Public Broadcasting and other cultural institutions. She notes how labeling PBS NPR anti-American widens divides as Congress weighs cutting grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities and Smithsonian programs. The piece cites Rusell Vought and executive orders targeting funding and a National Garden of American Heroes. It argues such moves threaten cultural dialogue, national memory, and access for communities nationwide, including specific locales and programs.
