Retired minister's glove wallets blend faith and baseball lore
Montezuma resident John Dodds a former minister crafts wallets from old baseball gloves. Sourced from Goodwill estate and garage sales he sews them into wallets often featuring names of stars like Mantle Brett Jeter and Sizemore. He learned the craft from a Tandy Leather kit and sells at craft shows for 40 dollars. Dodds grew up in Mitchell Indiana and later ministered across several states before settling in Montezuma. He notes his desire to give worn gloves new usefulness and sometimes meeting MLB players during ministry work.
