From Cedar Rapids to Poland a pitcher’s unlikely path
The story traces Phil Richmond’s unusual move from Cedar Rapids to Warsaw to pursue baseball. A Polish speaker born near Coe College, he played in Indy leagues across the US before moving to Poland in 2019. Richmond coached Poland’s national team in 2022 and now stars for Warsaw Centaury, balancing cross continent clubs and transfer rules.
