The Celebration Community Choir presents its first 2015 performance at 7 p.m. Saturday at Iowa Mennonite School in Kalona. Organized by Nathaniel Yoder, the group includes ages from teens to seniors and features pieces from Palestrina to contemporary pop. Admission is free and all are welcome. The event supports community connection through music across diverse backgrounds.
A Mobile Vet Center visits West Union each Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. near Hardee’s at the 150 18 intersection and stops in Mount Pleasant on Tuesdays. The Cedar Rapids based unit offers counseling and readjustment services to veterans and families with confidential care, no VA enrollment required, and no charge.
