In a 90 minute televised interview from his California estate he pledges not to grovel and vows to carry the burden of his actions. The program, first of four, could earn up to a million dollars and features questions from David Frost and no notes from Nixon.
Life Investors announces a 5 million addition to its Edgewood Road NE campus, doubling office space with a 115 000 square foot wing. Construction begins early summer and should finish in 24 months as part of the site master plan including landscaping and a second building complex. President Ronald L. Jensen cites rapid growth driving the expansion.
A January prank phone call to Mt. Vernon farmer Gordon Neal claiming to be from President Carter proved a hoax. Cornell student Jerry Harrington admitted planning the stunt after a party, saying he and others conceived the idea late January. The White House offered condolences and condemned the prank.
