William H. Woodin former secretary of the treasury died Thursday night at 6 30 pm in the Manhattan eye ear and throat hospital where he had been confined since April 2 Mrs Woodin and his eldest daughter were with him at his death Woodin a Roosevelt cabinet member resigned for health reasons and sought recovery in Arizona He would have been 66 on May 27 He died from an infection of the head and neck doctors said Roosevelt mourned his death calling him a man who placed duty to country above self and paid tribute to his service to the nation.

Two men robbed the First National Bank of about $10,000 in Fostoria Ohio after forcing a cashier and a bookkeeper to flee with them in a Ford V-8.
