Iowa National Guard readies largest deployment since WWII

The Gazette reports 2800 Iowa National Guard soldiers brace for a major deployment to Afghanistan later this year. Runway Project At Eastern Iowa Airport Underway This Summer

The Eastern Iowa Airport will rebuild its main runway this summer in a $21.8 million final phase of a $46.6 million project. Cedar Rapids covers the remaining 14.2 percent. no disruption expected for travelers.
