Cedar Rapids hog market held steady with butchers 210 to 240 pounds at 39.50 to 40.00. Sows under 550 pounds 34.50 to 35.00. sows over 550 pounds 35.00. Light hogs 200 to 210 pounds carry a 0.50 discount. 240 to 250 pounds 0.25 off, 250 to 260 pounds 0.50 off, and each 10 pounds over 260 0.75 off. Sheep market steady with wool and spring lambs at 58.00 to 60.00, shorn 56.00 to 58.00. Buying hours 7 to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday.
Webster City reports moderate trade and demand for hogs with butchers steady to 25 cents higher and sows 1.00 lower. No 1-3 butchers 200-250 lb priced at 40.50-40.75, 2-4 250-300 lb at 38.00-40.00, 300-350 lb at 36.50-37.50, sows 300-700 lb at 35.00-37.00. Des Moines notes undertone barely steady, light demand, ample supplies keeping plants near capacity. Egg prices largely firm with Grade A large at 38-46c, medium 33-38c, small 16-22c.
