Board Revamps Junk Food Rules in Iowa Schools
Des Moines Iowa the state board of education revises the Healthy Kids Act rules to curb junk food in schools. Effective July 2010 the plan bars soda unless brought by students caffeinated drinks restricted for elementarys fruit juice may not have added sweeteners and entrees capped at 400 calories with fats and sugars under 35 percent of calories for most foods.
