Hardening buildings against attack deemed not feasible
Washington The federal team of engineers from FEMA and the American Society of Civil Engineers concludes that hardening skyscrapers against airplane impact may not be technically feasible or cost effective. The report urges focus on aviation security and studies on fireproofing, exits, evacuation, and firefighter response while noting the World Trade Center met existing standards.

Atta did not meet Iraqi agent, U.S. officials say
U S investigators now say Mohammed Atta did not meet Ahmad Al Ani an Iraqi intelligence agent in Prague in 2001. The Prague meetings once linked Saddam Hussein s government to the Sept 11 attacks but Czech officials later retracted those statements. Atta is believed to have been in the United States at the time.

Judge voids Sept 11 perjury case over material witness rule
Federal Judge Shira Scheindlin ruled the material witness detention in the Sept. 11 grand jury probe unconstitutional and threw out perjury charges against Osama Awadal lah, a 21 year old Grossmont College student.
