Virgil Johnson upset by $250 Linn District verdict
Marion business owner Virgil Johnson of Triple E Manufacturing was stunned by a jury award of 250 dollars after a 1977 rear end collision suit in Linn District Court. He sought 150000 dollars for neck and back injuries, with medical costs of about 1500 dollars. Johnson said the verdict harms his reputation and plans to review former employee Kretschmar’s testimony for possible inaccuracies. The case coincides with Johnson’s ongoing legal entanglements including labor, patent, and land disputes.
