Silent tribute for Des Moines officer Susan Farrell
Hundreds of law enforcement officers gathered in a church to honor Susan Farrell, 30, killed in the line of duty along with Carlos Puente Morales, 34, after a head on crash on I-80 near Council Bluffs while transporting a prisoner. The service at Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines drew more than 3,000 mourners. Farrell’s husband Jesse held their daughter Ryleigh as Chief Dana Wingert spoke of a life cut short and a career with much still to accomplish.
