Iowa Democrats push plan to expand mortgage credit

Des Moines Democrat lawmakers unveiled a package to expand mortgage access in Iowa. It calls for a 3 million subsidy to the Iowa Housing Finance Authority to subsidize rates for low income buyers on homes up to 61 000, five year term. The plan would allow upfront points, broaden the authority bonding to 100 million, enable loan packages sale on secondary market, and legalize title insurance sale.
