Oil futures rose to a six month peak trading above 66 per barrel as Iran West tensions raise supply risk while U S gasoline inventories tighten and demand grows. AAA pegged US unleaded at 2 62 a gallon, up 12 cents from a year earlier.

Bids bode well for airport projects at Eastern Iowa
The Cedar Rapids Airport Commission awarded Streb Construction of Iowa City a 6.83 million dollar contract for the first phase of a parallel taxiway at The Eastern Iowa Airport. The bid came in well below the engineer estimate of 7.66 million. Six bidders participated and FAA funding may let expansion work proceed this year. Iowa unveils February unemployment at 3.3 percent
Iowa's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped to 3.3 percent in February the lowest since July 2001. Non-farm employment rose by 4 100 with retail trade the biggest gain. all sectors except non-durable goods manufacturing mining and federal government added jobs. Johnson County posted 2.7 percent the state’s lowest rate, while Cedar Rapids area fell to 4.0 percent.
