Teens seek better recreational facilities nationwide
Nancy Gilbert reports a national survey by Gilbert Youth Research, Inc, showing 59 percent of teens say their towns lack adequate non school hours facilities. Teens name movies bowling ice cream parlors and dance halls as common options while 11 percent report teen centers exist. Suggestions include youth-led programs, affordable venues, multiple sites, teen night clubs with limits, stricter attire and behavior rules, and more impromptu areas for socializing without heavy supervision.
