Johnson County hog fight tied to Dooley rezoning and justice center
Opponents of a 70 home rural Johnson County subdivision plan a hog operation across from the site and campaign against the county justice center. Property owner Sharon Dooley seeks to sell 91 of 132 acres at 2915 Newport Rd. for housing, while the Board of Supervisors moves toward rezoning despite local opposition. The hog effort and center funding highlight rural fears as voters prepare for a May 7 bond decision on the $43.5 million project.
