Death by own action reveals sad tale of drug use
Perry Jay Sanders died of a drug overdose February 28 in his motel near Palo while working a temporary job at a nuclear plant. Linn County Medical Examiner Percy Harris and Sanders’s employer Doc Dennis traced relatives across the country to settle his affairs, including his 18 year old daughter in Texas who could claim possessions. Sanders, born 1954 in Houston, had a troubled family history and multiple marriages, later becoming a health physics technician in a roaming nuclear plant crew before his relapse and death.
