Trucker Dies In Crash West Of Muscatine
A Lone Tree truck driver Louis Gentzler 27 died when his truck colliding with a passing car on highway 22 six miles west of Muscatine caused the vehicle to burst into flames. Two Muscatine women Mrs. Thomas Barry 37 and Alice McGowan 45 injured. Barry hip fracture and cuts McGowan leg ribs and shock. Funeral services set for Saturday at Stacy funeral home Columbus Junction.

Mrs John J Ryan, a longtime Allamakee resident born Anna Rea on March 28, 1857, observed her 1011th birthday on Friday. She lives on a farm once her family farmed near Waukon and remained in the area through World War I. Her husband died in 1933, a daughter-in-law and a nurse cared for her at home as she enjoyed her Irish wit.
