Fifteen Fake Products Passed Energy Star Test
Washington AP Fifteen phony products including a gasoline powered alarm clock earned Energy Star labeling in a government test. Investigators concluded the program is vulnerable to fraud and abuse as they tried to pass off twenty fake products, only two were rejected and three received no response. The Energy Star program run by the Energy Department and EPA aims to guide consumers with energy efficient products for tax credits and rebates.

Accident victims bound for Kalona wedding in Kentucky crash
Nine Mennonites from Kentucky died in a Friday crash on Interstate 65 near Munfordville while en route to a Kalona wedding. Gregg Hennigan and family friend were among the mourners. IASB fires executive director over unapproved pay raise
The Iowa Association of School Boards dismissed Maxine Kilcrease after she allegedly asked for and received a salary increase above 100000 without board approval.
