Abdominal fat linked to higher risk of dementia
A Kaiser study found that in adults aged 40 to 45 belly fat, not just weight, raises future dementia risk. Those with normal weight but high belly measurements faced about 89 percent higher dementia risk over 36 years. Overweight and obese groups showed amplified risks when belly size was large.

Pavlovs fish plan could train bass to swim into nets
Boston AP reports scientists at Woods Hole Marine Biological Laboratory plan to train black sea bass to return to feeding signals, potentially swimming into nets in open ocean cages. The project, funded by NOAA with 270000 dollars, aims to reduce farming costs and waste while bolstering depleted wild stocks. Skeptics caution farmers toward open ocean ranching.

The specimen, tied to Homo antecessor, aligns with tools and bones found with it and challenges timelines of European occupation.
