NCAA grants extra eligibility for Katie Hnida kicker

The NCAA approved an additional year of eligibility for Katie Hnida after she transferred from Colorado to New Mexico and later revealed a rape by a former Buffaloes teammate. Hnida, who walked on at Colorado in 1999 but played no games, transferred in 2002 and became the first woman to score in a Division I-A game with two extra points against Texas State San Marcos. The waiver was granted at New Mexico's request due to medical reasons preventing play for two years.
