Gas stations in Cedar Rapids drop to 99.9 cents a gallon
Two Cedar Rapids stations slash regular gasoline to 99.9 cents, first time Iowa sees regular gas under a dollar in 244 years. Larry Easley of Larry's Standard and Plaza Standard manager Larry Baummer credit spontaneous price cuts sparked by nearby competition. Prices for unleaded ranged from 1.10 to 1.16, with most area stations at 1.03 to 1.08 for regular.
