Fire training saves lives in Iowa house drill
Firefighters from 12 eastern Iowa communities gathered at 2515 West Post Rd for a daylong training held by the Fairfax Fire Department. The mid-1880s house was donated for practice as it nears collapse, teaching forced entry, window entry, equipment use, and flashover risk reduction. Participants came from Atkins, Cedar Rapids, Comur Pont, Ely, Fairfax, Hiawatha, Norway, Kobing, Salon, Swisher, Walker, and West Bertram.
