Washington AP reports the House adopted a conference committee report agreeing to a 1 million dollar appropriation for grasshopper and other insect control this year. The Senate has not acted. they originally passed 2 million, but the House cut it to 1 million.
General Electric announced wage increases effective April 1 for day and piece workers at the Schenectady plant. The raise will raise payroll by five percent, but the company did not disclose how many employees are affected.
