Hybrid gas tax plan moves to Iowa Legislature
Grassroots groups plan a lobbying blitz at the Iowa Legislature to back a hybrid gas tax plan aimed at raising state fuel revenue. The plan would cut the regular tax to 16 cents a gallon and add a 5 percent wholesale tax, hoping to generate about 230 million dollars annually and address aging, deficient bridges and roads across Iowa.
