Inmate Andrew Thornton Dies in Iowa City Hospital
Iowa Department of Corrections reported 21 year old inmate Andrew Thornton died of heart disease after a hospital stay stemming from a August 2010 drug conviction. He began his sentence in Newton and was en route to Coralville when he died. Separately a Mitchell County Jail inmate Christopher Servantez, 32, of Mason City died after CPR in hospital. toxicology and medical examiner investigations are underway.
