IRS calls Star Trek parody video a mistake
The IRS faced a congressional rebuke for a Star Trek parody video and a Gilligan’s Island spoof shown at a leadership conference in Maryland. The six minute Star Trek piece cost about 60 thousand dollars and had no training value. The disclosures come amid automatic spending cuts and potential furloughs for IRS staff, though furloughs will be delayed until after tax filing season to avoid delaying refunds.
