Kennel owner regains dogs after raid near Wyoming
Harold Buzz Powell said he retrieved six of about 40 dogs seized from Thunder Ridge Kennel east of Wyoming after a raid by Jones County deputies and a USDA agent. He expects the rest to be released this week as veterinarians who examined the dogs side with the owner. Powell maintains his kennel provides proper care and denies wrongdoing.

Teenager Dies After Bremer County Car Crash Near Waverly
In northeast Iowa a one car crash near Waverly at 2:45 a.m. Sunday injured two teens and killed one. The Bremer County Sheriff's Office said all three were taken to a Waverly hospital with non life threatening injuries for the survivors. No further details were released.
