Cameras on Iowa roads face setbacks in Cedar Rapids case

Cedar Rapids struggles over traffic camera rules with a local lawsuit likely to go to Polk County District Court this summer. State rules prompted turning off a direction at First Avenue East and 10th Street and relocating or banning four of the 1 380 locations. The city maintains cameras cut crashes but data shows flat overall crash trends while tickets rose from 86 050 to 105 071 over two years.
