Wage Rulings Allow Pay Increases to Trigger Price Hikes
The National Wage Stabilization board ruled that any hourly wage rise to reach 65 cents can be used automatically by employers to seek price increases. It also approved automatic wage boosts under incentive pay, merit and bonus systems, and job evaluation plans to speed wage-price machinery and seek faster OPA action. Other automatic approvals include changes in incentive wages for new or existing products and plans in effect before February 14, 1946.
