Ambroz Building in Cedar Rapids goes on market for redevelopment
The old Ambroz Building at 2000 Mount Vernon Rd SE, a 17 000 square foot former school and recreation center on 1 62 acres with a large parking lot, will be auctioned to private developers. City staff seek uses such as neighborhood services, a coffee shop, and housing while prioritizing preservation and green features. A panel will review bids with a June 2 deadline and a late June council decision. ADA upgrades and historical considerations loom over redevelopment.
