Obituary honors longtime Iowa City projectionist Terry Kadera
Terry Kadera, 68, a longtime projectionist at downtown Iowa City movie theaters, died last month of natural causes. He began in 1965 at the Varsity Theatre, later moved to the Englert, and for decades kept classic film showings alive as digital systems emerged. He also handled maintenance, concessions, and ticketing, embodying a bygone theater era. A memorial was set for 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery in Iowa City.
