Iowa City retirement center tax dispute heads to court
The Oaknoll Retirement Residence seeks tax exemption from Johnson County property taxes after years of appeals. The case centers on whether the non profit Christian Retirement Service Inc. is exempt and if residents’ finances affect care, with $150000 already paid under dispute and a $3.9 million addition planned for summer 1983.
