Jim Mayhew of the Iowa Conservation Commission said trout stocking will start April 1 in northeast Iowa. About 300000 catchable trout weighing around four pounds will be released into 49 spring-fed streams across nine counties, with roughly 10 percent brown trout and 90 percent rainbow trout.
