Owner Sampler Testing Planned in Winneshiek
More than 20 Winneshiek county dairy herd owners show interest in an owner-sampler testing service approved by the Winneshiek Dairy Herd Improvement Association. The program, under DHIA supervision, may start around April 1 at the Decorah Ice Cave Creamery with a goal of 100 members. Monthly samples are collected by herd owners and tested centrally. costs range from 30 cents per cow for small herds to 18 cents for larger herds.
