Mrs Anna Mathia Figum formerly of Decorah died in Sioux City March 16 at age 75. Burial took place Monday in the Lutheran cemetery. Born August 1 1863 in Bloomingdale Wisconsin, she married Peter Figum September 27 1885. Survivors include three daughters Miss Mae Figum Mrs Clara Brant Sioux City and Mrs Nora Walcott Omaha and sisters Mrs Minnie Anderson Viola Wis and Mrs Hannah Berger Cromwell Minn plus brothers John Alfred Olson Sioux City and Emil Olson Seattle.

Special to The Gazette Michael Justeson, 90, a Marengo pioneer who laid the first dirt for the county courthouse and assisted in erecting buildings in Belle Plaine, Omaha and other towns, died Monday at his granddaughter’s home. He was born in Denmark on October 25, 1848 and came to America at 22. Survived by daughter Nellie McKay, three granddaughters and ten great grandchildren.
