Lauritz Melchior Is 80 Today In Beverly Hills
Danish born Wagnerian tenor Lauritz Melchior turns 80 and will be honored by the Royal Danish Guards Association of southern California at a birthday party Saturday at the Biltmore hotel in Los Angeles. He left the Metropolitan Opera in 1950 and now hunts in Denmark twice yearly while supporting a foundation to aid budding tenors.

Jourdan Son Fined for Marijuana Possession
In Santa Monica California 18 year old Louis Henry Jourdan son of actor Louis Jourdan pleaded guilty to marijuana possession and received a $250 fine and a suspended one year jail term. He was arrested December 29 with his father Louis Jourdan present in court to pay the fine.
