Cedar Rapids Hotel Motel Tax Allocations Change Little
Cedar Rapids allocates 2 million dollars from the hotel and motel tax with little change from last year. A new 50 thousand dollar pot goes to the Cedar Rapids Convention and Visitors Bureau to boost bids for conventions and tourism. The Downtown District gains 9 thousand dollars for a farmers market, outdoor movies and a winter event. The program design includes 209,251 earmarked for debt, plus 103 thousand for the Police and 50 thousand for the Fire Department.
