Fire damages Cedar Rapids machine shop
A fire sparked by a grinding spark damaged Clemens Canvas & Manufacturing Co. in Cedar Rapids last night, forcing firefighters to battle a collapsing roof and a potential fuel tank explosion. Owner Tom Shaw and two others were in the shed. foam ignited on a rack and four extinguishers failed to stop the blaze. The tank proved nonflammable.
