Johnson County courthouse to get temporary relief in move to bank building
Johnson County Iowa will relocate the County Attorney's Office to the nearby MidWestOne Bank building at 500 S. Clinton St this fall freeing space on the courthouse first floor. Supervisors plan a 1.1 million bond for renovations and consider moving another department to the bank building to enable more updates. The seven year 1.8 million lease covers 8613 square feet on the bank’s fourth floor with multiple renewal options and bank cost coverage for about a third of build out. The move is described as a temporary fix while long term plans are discussed for a courthouse and jail security and space needs.
