The Peoples Grocery and Market company will open its new three story building at 119-121 Third Avenue SE Cedar Rapids next to the Paramount theater. O L Becker owner says the store will feature black and silver decor, marble trim, modern refrigeration and a drug department with a registered pharmacist. The new space includes large meat coolers, basement storage with two thousand bushel potato onion capacity, and upper floor storage for cereals and packaged goods. Growth since 1925 has been rapid with multiple Cedar Rapids stores and outlying locations, now employing seventy five locals. Plans emphasize fresh, value priced nationally known products and reliable service.
