University of Iowa President urges tax-free IRA gifts to boost education
Coleman testified before the Senate Finance Committee led by Sen. Grassley arguing that allowing tax-free rollover of IRA gifts to charities and universities would remove barriers to giving. The proposal aims to channel more resources to public institutions and nonprofits by excluding donor rollover amounts from taxable income. Grassley backs the plan as part of broader tax code changes under review.
