A Cirque du Soleil employee with the company was found dead in his Crowne Plaza Five Seasons Hotel room on First Avenue Cedar Rapids. Investigators deem the death not suspicious and an autopsy is pending. Police will not release the name.
Deputies from Buchanan and Benton counties rushed to Exit 41 on I 380 near Urbana to assist 16 year old Denver Parvin and social worker Steve Henderson after Parvin threatened self harm. Parvin walked into traffic and was struck as responders coordinated with 911. Parvin’s father Dan Parvin called the incident a tragedy and DHS said it is reviewing transport policy but will not change current procedures.
