One Man Army Sgt Kelly Wins Medal of Honor
Pittsburgh native Sgt Charles F Kelly of the 36th Texas division received the Congressional Medal of Honor for actions in Italy. He killed 40 Germans, silenced machine guns, obtained critical intelligence under fire, and held a position alone to cover a unit withdrawal. He is 23 with six brothers in service. His fiancee reportedly married a seaman.
